The Torrington Dispatch Center provides emergency dispatch service as well as after hours contact for the
Torrington public works. In addition to Torrington, the center provides emergency dispatch
to all the towns in Goshen County and the Goshen County Sheriffs Office. This service covers
law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical response. The Torrington center is also the 911 center for Goshen County.
In 2000 the dispatchers using Torrington's computer aided dispatch system were responsible for
providing over 196,775 radio log entries, 4,000 vehicle entries, 9,000 person entries. The Torrington system,
which was upgraded in 1997,1999 2000 now contains over 645,000 log entries,
15,000 vehicle ­entries and 23,000 person entries.
