Developing Your Workforce

There should be no question that a manufacturing business would be able to find affordable locations to buy or build their operation in Goshen County. You will also find available power to be sufficient, dependable and cheaply priced. There is plenty of natural gas and coal available as well. Wyoming's taxes are among the lowest in the Nation. Torrington has the most available housing if you plan to import a portion of your workforce with over 200 houses on the market. We are also prepared to help develop a workforce to your specifications.

Job training grants are available to companies that can demonstrate the need for special training for Wyoming employees. Such companies are encouraged to use the Community College Systems or other local instructors. Torrington is home to Eastern Wyoming College that offers degrees in Machine Tool and Welding and has participated in these types of grants to train for employers needs. "Primary" jobs, such as manufacturing jobs, receive more points than "secondary" jobs for these grants. The maximum amount that the State can contribute is $100,000 per training grant and other funds are encouraged.

Leland Vetter is Eastern Wyoming College's Welding & Machine Tool Instructor, A.W.S. Certified Welding Educator, A.W.S. Certified Welding Inspector, and is a Certified Manufacturing Specialist. Eastern Wyoming College is committed to provide the instruction necessary to ensure your business has adequately trained employees. This can be accomplished by using the State Job Training Grant to create a training program based on your company's needs and by including courses in its curriculum to teach the specific skills required in your operation. Leland Vetter has a reputation in the region for producing high quality students with the technical expertise and work ethic required in today's market place.
